Get StartedWhat Is the TOEFL iBT?
The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) is one of the most widely accepted English proficiency tests, recognised by over 12,000 institutions in more than 150 countries. Created by ETS (Educational Testing Service), it is the leading English test for US and Canadian university admissions.
The TOEFL iBT is taken entirely online and evaluates four skills — reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Each section is scored from 0 to 30, giving a total score of 0–120. Results are valid for two years from the test date.
The test costs between US$185 and US$325 depending on your location. ETS also offers MyBest scores, which combine your highest section scores from all attempts in the past two years — giving you a second chance to hit your target without retaking the entire test.
