What Is SIELE?

SIELE is a joint initiative by the Instituto Cervantes, UNAM (Mexico), University of Salamanca (Spain), and University of Buenos Aires (Argentina). Unlike DELE, SIELE is a single multi-level exam that places you on the CEFR scale from A1 to C1.

SIELE is fully digital — taken on computer at test centres or remotely with online proctoring. It also offers modular options, so you can certify individual skills. Results are valid for 5 years, longer than most language tests.

The exam covers all varieties of Spanish — European and Latin American — and is increasingly accepted by universities and employers worldwide as an alternative to DELE.
